The Amazing Spider-Man: 3.5 stars

Bathroom Meter: 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Yet another origin story for Spider-Man. This time he’s up against Dr. Curt Connors, a.k.a. the Lizard.

Indie Spider-Man! He shoots webs out of his mixtapes!

Have I sat down to watch it? No.

Have I theater-watched it? Yes. A couple times.

Main Audience Demographic: 20-somethings and families

Audience reaction as they leave the theater: Not much of a reaction. It’s weird. They’re pretty quiet when they get out of this one.

Best comment: “It was pretty good.”

Worst comment: “Andrew Garfield is so spastic.”

See it or not? I guess. It’s not terrible. It’s not the best, either. It was made by the guy who did (500) Days of Summer, so…be prepared. It’s super hipster. And I really hate that they did another origin story this close to the last one. Just because you add some skateboard tricks doesn’t make it new and exciting. However, I gotta say…Martin Sheen is awesome as Uncle Ben. He really saved this movie.
