I watch a lot of trailers. At least 20 or 30 every day. I’ve learned that the best movies usually have the worst trailers. Because with a truly great story, you shouldn’t be able to compress it down to a two-minute summary. Also, there are usually fewer explosions in truly great films. (Die Hard, you’re the exception.)
Now, conversely…the worst movies of all time seem to have incredible trailers. I think it’s because they take the only two minutes of great footage in the film and give it to you right then and there, and you say, “Hey, that was amazing, I can’t wait to see what the other 118 minutes are like.” Then you watch the movie, and you seriously think about going to the studio and taking a dump on their lawn. Because they’re little bitches for getting you that excited about such a turd of a movie.
So. That being said, these are the trailers that have gotten me the most excited. I’ll delete them as the movies get released, since they’ll probably end up being turds anyway. But as of now, I can’t wait to see these movies.
